As we age, many of us will find that we are losing that soft, supple shape to our facial features. This occurs due to loss of collagen and fat under our skin which leads to wrinkles and folds. You can soften the appearance of these areas with the use of dermal fillers such as Juvederm™ Ultra, Juvederm™ Ultra Plus and Radiesse®. These substances are made up of hyaluronic acid, a non-animal based substance that occurs naturally in the human body and can provide volume and fullness to facial wrinkles and folds by binding with the water in your skin. Dermal fillers can also be used to enhance and add to the fullness of your lips, fill scars such as those due to acne, and when used in the deeper skin layers, can even restructure certain aspects of the facial anatomy.

Dermal fillers are injected with a tiny needle directly into the wrinkle or fold. Over time, they will be naturally reabsorbed, but we have seen results lasting 6 to 9 months. When injecting into certain facial areas, we may recommend local anesthesia into the surrounding nerves to make the procedure more comfortable for our patients. Fortunately, there is little to no down time with this procedure and the results are immediate.  As always, all of your injections will be done by one of our highly skilled and knowledgeable physicians.
